Santo Domingo.- Next Monday, June 1st, the request for a precautionary measure against three minors investigated for the death of a 14-year-old adolescent that occurred inside a foster home of the National Council for Children and Adolescents, located in the municipality of San Antonio de Guerra, will be known. The hearing, scheduled for 2:00 PM, was postponed this Friday by the court handling the case. According to preliminary information, the teenager, identified by the initials N.P.P., was allegedly attacked by three inmates during the early hours of last Sunday, May 24. According to a source linked to the investigation, the minor presumptively died of asphyxiation inside the center where she was held in state custody. After the hearing concluded, the victim's family members avoided offering detailed statements to the press, claiming they were not emotionally prepared to speak about what happened. “We have already spoken enough with the press, we don't want to dwell on the same thing. The hearing was postponed until Monday and we can talk that day, but right now we don't feel well”, the relatives expressed. Family members reiterated their demand for justice and demanded explanations as to how the event could have occurred within an institution intended for the protection of vulnerable minors.
