Santo Domingo.– This Wednesday, April 15th, ExpoSostenible 2026 will formally begin, with a robust agenda and the participation of key actors from the public, private, and social spheres from the facilities of the Hotel El Embajador, consolidating the Dominican capital as the epicenter of dialogue and action in sustainability in the Caribbean.
The activity will bring together business leaders, government representatives, international organizations, academics, and entrepreneurs for two days, in a space designed to promote concrete solutions to the environmental, economic, and social challenges facing the country and the region.
During April 15th, the day will begin at 8:30 in the morning with the opening ceremony of ExpoSostenible 2026, followed by an
international conference by Rigoberta Menchú, focused on sustainable development, peace, and culture.
The agenda includes important interventions such as the conference by Wellington Arnaud, panels on water security, sustainable investment, resilient infrastructure
and sustainable financial system, as well as discussions with actors from the business sector. The day will close with the keynote conference by Eduardo Sanz Lovatón on the role of SMEs in Dominican sustainability.
In parallel, the EcoHub space will develop educational and dynamic activities from 10:30 in the morning, including presentations on environmental restoration, sustainable institutional practices, STEM training, use of agro-industrial waste, student volunteering, and innovation and entrepreneurship rounds. Financing topics for SMEs and sustainability as a competitive advantage will also be addressed.
For the second day (April 16), the agenda includes a keynote speech by the former president of Ecuador, Jamil Mahuad, on leadership in complex contexts and sustainability. In addition, panels will be held on circular economy, sustainable cities, food security, and national resilience, along with discussions with leading companies that are transforming their sectors.
The EcoHub will continue with programming focused on environmental education, innovation, bioplastics, microalgae, STEM training and entrepreneurship, including an innovation wheel and spaces dedicated to MSMEs and access to financing.
The event will conclude with the recognition of companies that promote sustainable transformation in the Dominican Republic, the award for the best stand, and a closing cocktail that will mark the formal closure of this second edition.
With this new edition, ExpoSostenible reaffirms its commitment to becoming a catalyst for ideas, projects, and policies that contribute to building a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable Dominican Republic.
