V Centenario Racecourse celebrates the first Great Cup doctor Ramon Tallaj

Santo Domingo.- The first "Gran Copa Dr. Ramón Tallaj" was held at the Quinto Centenario Racecourse, among imported horses, three years old and older. "We try to contribute in some way to the incentive of the development of equestrianism in the country, impregnating mares with stallions from our farm, so that those fruits are born in the Dominican Republic, with bloodlines of superior quality, and thus, contribute to the development of the breeding of native specimens," explained, accompanied by the president of the national equestrian commission, Mr. Francisco Pavonessa. The event featured a top prize of RD$500,000.00 and an entry fee of RD$25,000.00 per entry. It was a G3 race and was run at a distance of 1,800 meters. This celebration is part of the action plan of Dr. Tallaj, a prominent Dominican doctor and equestrian based in the United States, for the promotion and development of equestrianism in the Dominican Republic.

Tallaj owns a racehorse farm (Diamond Farm) in Kentucky (USA). Also, a stable, RT Racing Stable.

RECOGNIZED IN DR AND USA.

Tallaj is the recipient of several awards for his philanthropic work, through the foundation that bears his name and for his actions within various institutions, for the benefit of the health of low-income communities, both in the Dominican Republic and in the United States. A former undersecretary of health in the country, for three different periods, the native of Santiago de los Caballeros was also medical director of the Social Security and Welfare Institute of the Dominican Republic, a position in which, among his achievements, is the modification and improvement of the law regulating health administration. Among the awards he has received is that of Best Doctor in the Year 2011, by Continuum Hospitals at the St. Luke's Gala. The Ellis Island Medal of Honor, in May 2006, in New York City. Recognized as a Doctor.
