Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader left this Saturday from the San Isidro Air Base to Nice, France, to participate in the Third United Nations Conference on the Ocean, to be held from June 8 to 10.
The Dominican president is scheduled to continue in Geneva, Switzerland and then to Brazil, in a trip that will keep him away from the country for about eight days.
The Presidency of the Republic announced the president's departure at noon today. According to the official agenda, on Monday Abinader will meet with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, and on Wednesday he will arrive at the headquarters of the International Labour Organization (ILO), being the first Dominican president to be invited by the entity to participate in its event.You may be interested in: Abinader will meet with the heads of state of France and Brazil
In addition, he will receive at the ILO recognition from Dominican trade union centrals, accompanied by trade union leaders from other countries, for his efforts in ensuring that Dominican workers have decent wages, even surpassing the basic basket.
The return of President Abinader, who will be accompanied by a small delegation at these events, is scheduled for the 15th.
