The Dominican economy records a 2.9% year-on-year expansion in July

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican economy registered a year-on-year expansion of 2.9% in July, higher than the 1.1% in June, mainly supported by a better relative performance of the mining, free zones, construction and services sectors, the Central Bank reported this Wednesday. Within the services sector, financial activities, hotels, bars and restaurants, energy and water, and transportation and storage stand out.
In this way, the accumulated growth of the Dominican economy in the January-July 2025 period stands at 2.4%, the regulatory body assured in a statement.
The organization highlighted "recent stimulus measures" approved by the Monetary Board, through a liquidity program of 81 billion pesos (about 1.3 billion dollars), which has facilitated commercial banks for loans aimed at the productive and service sectors.
