The transfer was closed for an amount of 3.75 million euros (approximately 4.4 million dollars), plus 500,000 euros in variables, according to the Portuguese club. Rosario, who also holds Dutch nationality, arrived at Nice in 2021 after his time at PSV Eindhoven, where he played 138 matches. In the French team he accumulated a total of 149 official matches. In FC Porto, Rosario will reunite with coach Francesco Farioli, who coached him during his time at Nice, and with Dutch striker Luuk de Jong, his former teammate at PSV. The midfielder, who will wear number 13, arrives with the aim of strengthening the club's midfield, which will compete this season in the Europa League. Rosario debuted with the Dominican Republic's senior national team in July 2025 during the World Cup qualifiers and was also part of the team that played in the Gold Cup. Previously, he had played a match with the Netherlands national team, but since this year he officially represents the Dominican team. According to data from the specialized portal Transfermarkt, Rosario had an estimated market value of eight million euros, although the final transfer amount was below that figure. The decision not to participate with Nice in the preliminary round of the Champions League accelerated the operation, allowing the midfielder to focus on his new stage in Portugal.
