Popular Receives Three Awards at Global Finance's Best Digital Banks Awards

Santo Domingo. – The Banco Popular Dominicano won three awards in the 26th edition of the World's Best Digital Banks Awards held by the financial magazine Global Finance, highlighting the awards for the best mobile banking application and the best digital consumer bank in the Dominican Republic.

The financial entity also won the award for the bank with the best digital transformation model, both nationally and in Latin America, thereby confirming the robust strategy of Banco Popular, aimed at attracting and serving its customers through innovative, efficient and secure digital solutions, as well as its ability to transform the banking experience in the Dominican Republic and in the region.

"These recognitions reflect our commitment to digital transformation, always putting the customer at the center of our innovation," expressed Mr. Christopher Paniagua, Executive President of Popular.

The criteria evaluated by Global Finance included the strength of the digital customer acquisition strategy, success in channel adoption, user growth, the variety of its digital portfolio, tangible benefits for customers, as well as the quality of the design and functionality of its web and mobile platforms.

Innovation and digital leadership

Currently, more than 1.5 million digital users access Popular's services. More than 90% of the services offered by the bank are available online, which translates into greater agility, security, and convenience for its customers.

Regarding service channels, over 71% of customers use the Popular App, which in 2024 exceeded 100 million transactions, with a year-on-year growth of 46%.

In the last two years, the volume of mobile transactions increased to 154.9 million operations, with a year-on-year growth of 30%, of which 46% corresponded to person-to-person payments.

Regarding the website, with 42 million transactions in the last two years, it is established as a key platform for digital users. Operations related to service payments represent 45% of the total, becoming the most frequent activity through this service channel.
