CTC social programs have impacted young people during their 2020-2025 management

Santo Domingo. - The Community Technological Centers (CTC) presented their 220-2025 Management report, which highlights digital inclusion and training programs that have impacted and transformed the lives of hundreds of young people and adults nationwide.

Among these five years of achievements, the director of the CTCs, Isidro Torres, also highlighted the modernization of infrastructure, digital training, and social programs impacting vulnerable communities. Torres reported that in that period, more than 100 centers were rehabilitated and modernized, reaching a total of 107 CTCs and 7 Compumetros in operation.

The report presented by Torres indicates that more than a million people were certified in digital skills through programs such as Girls in ICT and Summer Maker, people with disabilities, senior citizens, inmates of Rafey, women and young people at social risk also participated in these trainings.

The official also mentioned as achievements in these 5 years of management, the Espacios de Esperanza (Spaces of Hope), which benefited early childhood with early stimulation programs and values training.

Likewise, Torres referred to initiatives developed in hospitals such as the Robert Reid Cabral, which brought technological resources and recreational activities to children in delicate health conditions.

"These five years have been of great transformations, of great achievements, but I want to emphasize that the focus has been the young people, the adults, to whom we have tried to bring training and digital inclusion, fundamental instruments today to be able to function and enter the job market."

Other achievements
The CTC Radio Division consolidated its role as a community medium with 72 active stations, of which 45 were rehabilitated and 48 digitized. During this period, more than 8,200 contents were produced and 460 community members were trained in radio announcing and production.

Furthermore, he said, that through strategic alliances, digital rooms were installed in communities, rehabilitation centers, and social organizations.

In the opinion of the director of the CTCs, another significant achievement was that in 2025 the Dominican Republic hosted the Global Workshop on Digital Transformation Centers and the Annual Meeting of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in which 28 countries participated. He highlighted that, in both scenarios, the CTCs were recognized as a regional model of digital inclusion and social innovation.

"We are not tired. We are enthusiastic, we have the energy of the first day when we took office. We will continue working to bring inclusion and digital training wherever young people require it, because our mission is to transform and impact lives, make them more productive and give them meaning," said Torres.

Acknowledgements
Torres underlined that these advances were supported by President Luis Abinader and Vice President Raquel Peña and First Lady Raquel Arbaje.

Torres also thanked the role of the media, who "have been strategic allies to disseminate our actions and multiply the impact of the CTCs in each community," he said.
