The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has thwarted a terrorist attack in Moscow targeting a senior official of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The special services of Ukraine participated in the preparations in collaboration with the Islamic State (IS)*. According to the agency, four people have been arrested in connection with this attempted attack. "Three Russian citizens involved in covering up the traces of the planned crime have been detained, and a citizen from Central Asia, the direct perpetrator of the [attempted] terrorist act," the statement said. "The crime was planned to be committed in a socially dangerous manner in one of the most densely populated areas of the capital. According to specialists' estimates, the power of the improvised explosive device manufactured by the terrorists allowed for causing damage to people within a radius of up to 70 meters.
