King Charles III has recorded a video message to support a campaign that fights against cancer, a disease he himself suffers from, Buckingham Palace, the official residence of the British royal family, reported this Friday.

The campaign is titled 'Stand up to cancer', launched jointly at the beginning of this month by the organization 'Cancer Research UK', which investigates this disease, and Channel 4 of British television. According to the palace, this task aims to highlight the importance of early diagnosis, raise funds for research, and support all those affected by the disease.

At the beginning of last year, the king announced that he is suffering from cancer that is being treated, but without providing details. Some media have speculated that it is prostate cancer, but the palace has never confirmed it. The Head of State's message will be broadcast on Channel 4 at 20:00 GMT today, after being recorded in the last week of November in a room at Clarence House, near Buckingham Palace. Carlos III has been receiving outpatient cancer treatment since the beginning of February 2024 and, according to the media, it is estimated that these are weekly sessions at a London clinic. In any case, the cancer does not seem to affect his activities as head of state. In addition to the monarch, his daughter-in-law, the Princess of Wales Catherine (Kate) Middleton, is also suffering from cancer, details of which have not been provided. She announced it via a video in March 2024 and was absent from public activities for a time while undergoing treatment, but in recent times she has been resuming her public agenda.
