Family of murdered student march in Santiago and demand investigation of other alleged accomplices

Santiago.- Relatives of the 14-year-old teenager Noelvy Jeremías Cabrera held a march this Sunday to demand justice for his murder and to demand that the authorities include in the investigation four other people who, according to their complaints, allegedly participated in the event that occurred on November 28, in the Parada Siete sector, Ingenio Abajo, in the west zone of Santiago.

The mobilization took place along the Joaquin Balaguer highway, where the minor's relatives demanded that the case not be limited to the 15-year-old student whose name is omitted for legal reasons, sent to three months of preventive prison in the Bella Vista juvenile center.

According to family members, Noelvy Jeremías was attacked with a bladed weapon after leaving the Simón Antonio Luciano Castillo Polytechnic, after participating in a basketball game held on the school's court. They claim that the crime occurred in a supposed ambush and that the attack was preceded by threats.

Visibly affected, the teenager's parents, José Ariel Cabrera and Wendy Rubiera, called for the direct intervention of President Luis Abinader and the Attorney General of the Republic, Yeni Berenice Reynoso, so that the process moves forward and all responsibilities are established.

The victim's relatives also reiterated their concern about the alleged existence, within the educational institution, of a gang known as "Los 18", which, according to versions from students, would be linked to conflicts, intimidation and threats among students.

Meanwhile, the community demands answers, and the families warned that they will continue to mobilize until all the alleged perpetrators are brought to justice and the case is fully clarified.
