Governor of Azua supports the "Caries-Free Schools" program

Azua.– With the support of the governor of Azua province, licensed Maria Minerva Navarro, the “Caries-Free Schools” program was launched, an initiative of the National Health Service (SNS) aimed at guaranteeing the oral health of more than 2,300 boys and girls from different educational centers in the province.

The launch event was attended by the national director of Dentistry, doctor Mario Bournigal; the director of the El Valle Regional Health Service, doctor César Benzán; as well as local authorities, provincial dental personnel, and benefiting students. This program is part of the national strategy for the prevention of oral health, which aims to strengthen access to dental services, promote oral hygiene habits and ensure the supply of safe water in schools, reaffirming the Dominican State's commitment to the comprehensive well-being of children.

During her intervention, Governor Navarro expressed her gratitude to doctors Bournigal and Benzán for their commitment to child health, highlighting that “this program is a demonstration of the articulated work promoted by our Government, benefiting not only Azua, but the entire country”.
