Santo Domingo.– The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, appointed Víctor “Ito” Bisonó Haza as director of the Institute for the Promotion, Access and Guarantee for My House (Infamicasa), a position he will hold on an honorary basis, in recognition of his extensive career in public management and the design of economic and social development policies.
Bisonó served until the beginning of January this year as Minister of Industry, Commerce and SMEs, a position he held since August 16, 2020. After ceasing those functions, he was appointed Minister of Housing and Buildings, consolidating his experience in strategic areas of the State linked to economic growth, competitiveness and urban development.
The official is a prominent political leader and was elected as a deputy for the National District in four consecutive terms, between 2002 and 2020. During his legislative work, he chaired the Commission on Economy, Planning and Development, in addition to being a member of the Industry, Commerce and Finance commissions.

He also served on the National Council of the Magistracy on two occasions and, prior to his congressional stage, held relevant positions in the Ministry of Public Works, the Dominican Corporation of Electricity, and the Foreign Investment Promotion Council.
In the legislative sphere, Bisonó promoted important legal initiatives, including Law 171-07 on Incentives for Foreign Rentiers and Pensioners, Law 57-07 on Renewable Energies, Law 392-07 on Industrial Competitiveness, and Law 479-08 on Commercial Companies, key regulations for strengthening the investment climate and the productive development of the country.
