They announce the 47th version of the Vuelta Ciclística Independencia Nacional with 24 teams

SANTO DOMINGO. - The 47th edition of the National Independence Cycling Tour will begin next Tuesday, the 24th, with the participation of 144 cyclists from 24 national and international teams.

The highest competition of national cycling is an event organized by the Dominican Cycling Federation, presided over by Jorge Blas Díaz, and the administrative minister of the presidency, Andrés Bautista, serves as president of the Organizing Committee. Kelvin Cruz, Minister of Sports, led the press conference to announce the details, held in the James Rodríguez Hall of the Ministry of Sports, along with Bautista and Blas Díaz. "This event has great value because it has managed to endure and captures the attention of the Dominican people every year," Cruz pointed out. Bautista highlighted that "it is an honor to represent President Luis Abinader in this act and you can count on support today and always because sport only brings positive things to society." Blas Díaz recognized the tenacity of all the presidents that the Dominican Cycling Federation has had, who have managed to keep the Vuelta Independencia afloat. Blas Díaz indicated that the competition will take place with six stages with 10 national and 14 foreign teams. Garibaldi Bautista, president of the Dominican Olympic Committee, José Bautista, former president of Fedoci, and Fernando Geraldino, executive of the Seaboard company, were present along with Fedoci executives and various Ministers of Sports. The contest is supported by the Administrative Ministry of the Presidency, the Ministry of Sports, Banreservas, Seaboard, and Economic Dining Halls. The event will also have the support and collaboration of the Military and Police Commission of the Ministry of Public Works, System 911, Digesset, Politur and the Dominican Olympic Committee. The national teams are: Inteja Cycling Team, Asocisa/Santiago, San Juan de la Maguana, San Francisco de Macorís, Team La Romana, Club Fénix, Verrazano/Santiago, El Boro Cycling Team, R 2 R Cycling Team and Asocipe/Moca, While the foreigners are: CAMA CCD (Guadalupe), Pegasus Texas (USA), Esparza Training (Mexico), Team JCO (San Martin), Team Medellin (Colombia), City Bikes Miami (USA), Origenes Coffee-HYF (Colombia), Arenas Tlas (Mexico), Puerto Rico National Team, Hino One (Guatemala), Curacao National Team, L391ON Los Angeles (USA), Team Madras Cycling (Guadalupe) and the Panama National Team.

Stages

The first stage will cover 117 kilometers on the Santo Domingo-San Pedro de Macorís-La Romana route. All departures are scheduled for 9:00 in the morning. On Wednesday 25th, the second stage of 153 kilometers will include Santo Domingo-Baní, Circunvalación, Santo Domingo. The third stage will be on Thursday 26th: Santo Domingo-Rancho Arriba, San José de Ocoa and the distance will be 158 kilometers.

On Friday the 27th, a closed circuit will be held in Mirador Sur Park (140kms).

The penultimate stage will be Santo Domingo-Circunvalación Santo Domingo Norte, on Saturday 28th (138kms). The Dominican tour concludes on Sunday, March 1st with a circuit in the monumental area in Santiago.
