Apple launches the iPhone 17e and the new iPad Air with performance and connectivity improvements

New York.- The American technology company Apple unveiled its new iPhone 17e and iPad Air models this Monday, which incorporate its latest processors and improvements in performance, connectivity, and software functions. The company announced in a statement that both models will be available starting Wednesday, March 11, with reservations from March 4, in Apple stores and authorized distributors in multiple countries, including Mexico, the only Latin American country mentioned. The iPhone 17e is "designed to last", with "a robust yet lightweight design", and features the A19 chip and a C1X modem, which according to Apple offer "greater speed and energy efficiency compared to the previous generation". It also incorporates a 48-megapixel Fusion camera with a 2x telephoto lens, which allows you to take photos and videos in 4K, as well as advanced portrait functions. The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display incorporates Ceramic Shield 2 and is "scratch-resistant", while the battery can be charged quickly via USB-C and is compatible with MagSafe. For its part, the iPad Air incorporates the M4 chip, with an 8-core CPU, a 9-core GPU and a faster Neural Engine, along with 12 GB of unified memory and support for Wi-Fi 7 and 5G. Apple claims that these improvements enable "superior performance for editing tasks, video games, and artificial intelligence applications". The iPad Air is available in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes, with compatibility with the Apple Pencil Pro and the Magic Keyboard, and with iPadOS 26, which offers "an improved window system, optimized file management, and advanced productivity features".
