Conference announced to address the identity crisis in young people and families

Santo Domingo. – Faced with the growing disorientation experienced by both young people and families in our country, the National Commission United for Altagracia, of the Dominican Episcopal Conference (CED), together with the Association of Ladies of Altagracia, announce the third edition of its Aula Altagraciana under the title: “Message to young people and families in the image of Our Lady of Altagracia and in the Theology of the Body”. The educational space, dedicated to cultivating faith and Marian devotion, seeks to reinforce Christian values and celebrate human and religious identity and will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Octavio Antonio Cardenal Beras Rojas Auditorium of the Universidad Católica de Santo Domingo (UCSD). For this edition, the Aula Altagraciana organized by the National Commission United for Altagracia will feature the presence of Dr. Oscar Perdiz Figueroa, from the Pontifical Theological Institute John Paul II of Mexico, who will guide attendees through the symbolism of the image of Our Lady of Altagracia.

The meeting is supported by the John Paul II Institute, Family and Life Ministry, and Youth Ministry, integrating the following program of guests:
  • · Keynote Speaker: Dr. Oscar Perdiz Figueroa (Pontifical John Paul II Theological Institute, Mexico City).
  • · Moderator: Fr. Vladymir Pérez Candelario (Pontifical John Paul II Institute, Santo Domingo).
  • · Panelists from Family and Life Ministry: Fr. Mario Campusano, Ismael De la Rosa and Magdalena Viola (Archdiocese of Santo Domingo).
  • · Panelists from Youth Ministry: Fr. Marcelino Mieses Salas, Michael de la Cruz and María Rivera (Archdiocese of Santo Domingo).
  • · Artistic participation: Alisber Zapata and Jovanny González.
This proposal invites us to pause and rediscover that our body tells a sacred story. Being a man or a woman is not a trend or a passing construction, but a vocation charged with dignity. The Altagraciana Classroom is committed to that depth: when a young person understands what they were created for and a family makes their home a refuge of real love again, confusion loses its strength.
