The production of this story joins the growing wave of video game adaptations driven by Paramount, such as 'Sonic the Hedgehog', at a time when Hollywood is also betting on titles like 'Super Mario Bros.', 'Minecraft: The Movie' or 'Mortal Kombat'. Paramount announced last September an agreement with the video game distributor Activision, owned by Microsoft, to produce the film, which includes the possibility of expanding the production of content based on 'Call of Duty' to series or other cinematographic content.
