Caracas.- The Venezuelan acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, reported this Thursday the resignation of the president of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV), Laura Guerra, and announced that the position will be held by Luis Pérez, an appointment that comes two days after the United States lifted the sanctions imposed on the public banking system of the South American country, including the issuing body.
Guerra, who held the position since April of last year, will now "continue with other activities within the Government", Rodríguez pointed out, who on Wednesday completed one hundred days as acting president, a position she assumed after the capture of Nicolás Maduro on January 3 in Caracas by US forces."I have received a communication from the lawyer, Dr. Laura Guerra, who has submitted her resignation to the Central Bank of Venezuela," said the Chavista leader in a meeting with economic authorities broadcast by the state channel Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).
