Mexico City.- A traffic accident in the state of Chihuahua (northern Mexico) left four officials dead this Sunday -two Mexicans and two Americans-, after an operation in which they dismantled a drug trafficking laboratory, according to authorities.
Among the deceased are two officials from the U.S. Embassy and two members of the State Investigation Agency (AEI) of Chihuahua, one of them the director of the AEI in the region. "Unfortunately, two instructor officials from the U.S. embassy, who were carrying out training tasks, also passed away," Jáuregui Moreno indicated.
The U.S. ambassador to Mexico, Ronald Johnson, lamented the death of the officials, and recognized their work in security tasks, noting that they faced "one of the greatest challenges of our time."
"This tragedy is a solemn reminder of the risks faced by Mexican and American officials dedicated to protecting our communities," Johnson indicated in a message on his X account.

Furthermore, the ambassador emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral commitments in security and justice.
