Esperanza, Valverde. – In an atmosphere of deep sadness and consternation, the remains of the five people who lost their lives in the tragic traffic accident that occurred last Sunday on the road Jamao al Norte, Espaillat province, were buried this Monday.
Family members, friends, and community members accompanied the funeral procession with tears and pain to the municipal cemetery of the municipality of Esperanza, where they said their final farewell to the victims, all from the province of Valverde.

The deceased were identified as Iván de Jesús Almonte González, Liz Manuel Molina Mezquita, José Antonio González Beltrán, Giovanni Mézquita Sánchez, and Winnifer Aragonés Mezquita. According to the preliminary report, the accident occurred when a bus returning from a tour overturned in the area known as La Cumbre, in the municipality of San Víctor, Espaillat province. The event left a balance of 52 injured, of which 50 have already been discharged from the Toribio Bencosme Hospital in Moca. It is presumed that a brake system failure caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, leading to the tragic event.This unfortunate accident adds to a series of road tragedies that left 13 people dead in different parts of the Cibao during the weekend, generating great sorrow throughout the northern region of the country.
