Santo Domingo.– The directors of the Economic and Social Council (CES) will visit the National Palace this Tuesday to formally deliver to President Luis Abinader the final report of the national dialogue on Haiti, developed for more than a month with different sectors of the country.
This was reported this Monday by the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, during LA Semanal con la Prensa, specifying that the delivery will take place at 4:00 in the afternoon in an official meeting with the president. You may be interested in: http://Abinader announces he will denounce the "abandonment" of Haiti at the UN Assembly
The dialogue arose after Abinader's meeting with former presidents Hipólito Mejía, Leonel Fernández and Danilo Medina, held on May 14th. Paliza indicated that, starting tomorrow, the CES will also conduct individual visits with each of the former presidents, scheduled for the coming days. “It has been an interesting dialogue, the conclusions have been duly noted and there is a good summary of a base of long and extended conversations that will be delivered to the president,” said the minister. Paliza highlighted that the report will be made public starting this Tuesday through the CES website, allowing society to have access to the conclusions and recommendations arising from the dialogue. With this step, the Government seeks to socialize the findings of the national dialogue on Haiti and facilitate the implementation of measures that respond to the challenges identified by the different sectors involved.
