The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) announced that it will take legal action against the owner of the Mudan store, located on Duarte Avenue, almost corner of Paris, in the National District, for allegedly impeding a migration interdiction operation and assaulting the authorities.
The merchant, of Chinese nationality, was involved in an altercation that occurred this Wednesday in his establishment, after immigration agents went to the place after receiving reports that Haitian citizens were employed in the store without legal documentation.
During the intervention, which was supported by members of the Armed Forces and the National Police, a physical confrontation occurred between employees and agents. The incident left several injured and people arrested, as can be seen in videos spread on social media.According to the official statement, 35 Haitian citizens, including men and women, who were working irregularly in the country, were arrested in the operation.
