Following the US attacks against Venezuela, Donald Trump stated that the United States was prepared for a “second wave” of attacks in Venezuela if the situation required it.
Trump asserted this Saturday in an interview with Fox News that the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, was in what he described as a "fortress" during the aggression perpetrated this day by Washington against Caracas. You may be interested in: http://Trump says US will be "strongly involved" in Venezuela's oil sector after Maduro's capture
"[Maduro] was in a dwelling that looked more like a fortress than a house. It had steel doors. It had what they call a security space, with solid steel all around. He failed to close that space. He was trying to get in, but they surprised him so quickly that he couldn't get in. We were prepared. We had, you know, blowtorches enormous and everything needed to go through that steel. But we didn't need it. He didn't reach that area of the house," he stated. Likewise, the US president asserted that his military had planned to perpetrate the aggression against Venezuela "four days ago", but the time "wasn't perfect". "The weather has to be perfect. And we had perfect weather. We had, you know, a very good one. A few more clouds than we expected. It was good. We waited four days. We were going to do it four days ago, three days ago, two days ago. And suddenly, the possibility opened up and we said go ahead. And I'll tell you it was simply incredible," he completed.
