The demonstrations in the city of Minneapolis against the agents of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have escalated rapidly, following the death of a woman at the hands of one of them this Wednesday. "We are going to find them, and we are going to kill them to hell. They are going to die to hell, bitch," shouted one of the protesters at a vehicle, in which possibly an ICE officer was going.
The fatal scene began when the victim drove her car in the middle of a street and was approached by several officers. When one of them asked her to get out of the car, she moved forward, trying to use her vehicle "as a weapon" against another that was parked in front. Seconds later, the officer opened fire on her, making three shots that ended her life. After losing control, the car crashed into another that was parked.

While the city's mayor, Jacob Frey, accuses the officers of reckless use of force, the Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, claims that the victim was part of a group of rioters trying to block ICE operations and that the officer responsible acted in self-defense, after fearing for his life and that of his colleagues. Despite the opposition of the governor of the state of Minnesota, Tim Walz, more than 2,000 ICE agents have been deployed in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, which includes the city of Minneapolis and the state capital, Saint Paul, by order of President Donald Trump, in order to investigate alleged cases of fraud. For his part, Trump called the incident a "horrible thing". "I just saw the video of the event that occurred in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It's a horrible thing to see. The woman who was screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very upset, obstructing and resisting, and then, she violently, deliberately and brutally ran over the ICE agent, who, apparently, shot her in self-defense," he wrote on Truth Social.
