Preventive detention will be requested against a woman accused of killing her two-year-old stepson

Santo Domingo.- The Public Prosecutor's Office of Santo Domingo Oeste will request preventive detention, as a coercive measure, against a woman accused of causing the death of her two-year-old stepson, in an event that occurred on May 14 in the Duarte neighborhood, La Cuaba, of the municipality of Pedro Brand.

Prosecutor Yessica Durán, representing the prosecuting body, has opened an investigation against the accused Elisa María Valdez Múñoz for voluntary manslaughter to the detriment of the infant with initials C.D.D.

According to the imputation document, the Public Prosecutor's Office, on the date indicated above, received the complaint through the Línea Vida contact center, that the child had been admitted to a public health center, with bruises on the body, a fracture in the left arm, and who was later declared by the doctors to be brain dead.

The Public Prosecutor's Office indicated that it has sufficient evidence with which it will support preventive detention against Valdez Múñoz in the coming hours.

The Public Prosecutor's Office has provisionally qualified the actions committed by the accused as child abuse, psychological abuse, physical abuse, negligent treatment, and homicide to the detriment of the victim.
