Advisory Commission creates legal subcommittee to evaluate project of the new Quisqueya Stadium

Santo Domingo. The Consultative Commission appointed by presidential decree to evaluate the construction of a modern baseball stadium in the country approved this Wednesday the formation of a legal subcommittee in charge of examining all the legal documentation related to the project. The subcommittee will be composed of the jurists Angélica Noboa Pagán —who will serve as coordinator—, Elka Scheker Mendoza, Edgar Torres Reynoso and Julissa Vásquez, with Dr. Olivo Rodríguez Huertas as advisor. Subero Isa reported that this team will be able to issue partial reports and recommendations during the process, with the aim of delivering the final report requested by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, within the agreed timeframe, in accordance with decrees 306-25 and 378-25. The Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, the general manager of Bandex, Juan Mustafá, the national baseball commissioner, Junior Noboa, the president of LIDOM, Vitelio Mejía Ortiz, as well as the members of the designated subcommittee, also participated in the meeting. The designation is framed within the critical path outlined by the Commission in its first meeting on July 17, which includes the collection of essential information and documentation for the analysis of the project. In its previous session, on August 7, the Commission received a report from the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League and toured the current facilities of the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium to assess its condition and modernization needs.
