Delfines prevail as visitors against MOCA FC

MOCA. – Los Delfines del Este achieved an important victory as visitors by defeating MOCA FC 1-3, in a match corresponding to matchday 4 of the Liguilla of the Dominican Republic Football League (LDF 2026), an event dedicated to sports promoter doctor José Rafael Abinader.

The aurinegros were the first to open the scoring in the 23rd minute, when Sergio Ventura took advantage of a play inside the area after a loose ball from goalkeeper Pedro Espinal, following a free kick taken by Jhonny Parima, to put the score at 1-0 in favor of the home team.

However, the visiting reaction was immediate. Barely a minute later, at the 24th minute, Diego Lozada equalized the score after capitalizing on a rebound in the area and scoring against goalkeeper Mario Marte, closing the first half with a 1-1 draw.

In the second half, Los Delfines managed to tip the scales in their favor. At minute 80, Joselvis Martínez scored a header for 1-2, putting his team ahead in the match played at the Moca 85 Stadium. MOCA FC had the opportunity to tie the score in the 90+2, when Jessy Mena was one-on-one, but could not score against the intervention of goalkeeper Pedro Espinal. The definitive goal came at 90+6, when Jhon Ramos converted from the penalty spot, sealing the 3-1 and securing the three points for Los Delfines del Este in the LDF 2026 Playoffs.

MOCA FC's next commitment will be on Saturday, February 7, when they visit the Panamericano Stadium to face Universidad OYM, in a match scheduled for 3:30 in the afternoon.
