The Águilas Cibaeñas defeated the Estrellas Orientales 8-2 at the Tetelo Vargas Stadium to continue approaching securing first place in the regular season. With a record of 29-13, the Águilas, the first team to qualify this season, seek to finish as absolute leaders for the first time since the 2012-13 campaign. Jerar Encarnación led the yellow offense by batting 5-3, with a run scored and three RBIs, while Elih Marrero contributed two RBIs. Right-hander Jean Carlos Henríquez (2-0) took the win and Óscar de la Cruz (3-3) took the loss, after allowing four runs.
