The Construction and Inauguration The construction of the stadium was completed in just 11 months, with a cost of RD$3.2 million, including one million that was paid to Mrs. María Martínez de Trujillo for the land. Doctor Joaquín Balaguer, who at that time held the position of Secretary of State for Education, Fine Arts and Cults, gave the inaugural speech, highlighting the importance of the stadium as part of the "Trujillo Era" and its educational and cultural impact on Dominican youth. The inaugural game featured the eastern stars who melted as hosts since they had won the championship in 1954 and the tigres del licey. Alcibiades Colon connected the first indisputable in the new stadium when in the second inning of the game he put the ball in no man's land between the center and right fields.Remodeling and Improvements

In 2007, it underwent a renovation that expanded its number of seats and improved the overall aesthetics of the field. In 2010, the grandstand area was reduced from 9,600 to 9,500 seats to expand the "AA" boxes from 5,843 to 7,443 seats. In 2014, it was renovated again and the surface area of the grandstands was reduced from 9,500 to 8,015 seats.Capacity and Events
