SANTO DOMINGO. – The Dominican Republic's Meteorology Institute (Indomet) reported that this Sunday the national territory will continue under the influence of a trough located west of the country, which will generate scattered showers during the day over provinces such as María Trinidad Sánchez, Hato Mayor, Samaná, La Altagracia and San Pedro de Macorís.
In the afternoon, the evening warming will reinforce these conditions, causing cloud cover increases accompanied by heavy showers, thunderstorms, and possible wind gusts until the early hours of the night, especially in Hato Mayor, San Pedro de Macorís, Monte Plata, San Cristóbal, La Vega, Azua, San Juan, Elías Piña, Dajabón, and sectors of Greater Santo Domingo.

For tomorrow Monday, the trough will move away from the country, favoring a mostly sunny and partly cloudy environment in the morning. However, in the afternoon, the diurnal cycle and the humidity transported by the wind will cause scattered showers and thunderstorms in Monte Plata, Hato Mayor, San Pedro de Macorís, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, Azua, San Juan, Santiago, Santiago Rodríguez, Valverde, Espaillat, Puerto Plata and Gran Santo Domingo. Forecast by demarcations- Distrito Nacional: Cloudy increases at the end of the afternoon with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.
- Santo Domingo Norte: Cloudy increases in the afternoon with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.
- Santo Domingo Este: Cloudy increases with isolated showers.
- Santo Domingo Oeste: Cloudy increases with isolated showers.
