Santo Domingo.— President Luis Abinader assured that the Government will continue to strengthen the housing programs that have allowed thousands of Dominicans to access decent housing, when leading the delivery of apartments of the Laderas del Este project.
During his intervention, the president highlighted initiatives such as the Mi Vivienda program and the National Plan for Happy Family Housing, noting that they have had a significant impact on reducing the housing deficit in the country. "The government's commitment is to continue with this program and guarantee its sustainability, because it has been a true success of a public-private partnership in favor of thousands of Dominicans," he said. Abinader explained that these projects have the backing of the Banco de Reservas de la República Dominicana and the support of financing mechanisms promoted by the State, which allows offering facilities for the acquisition of housing. We recommend reading: Ito Bisonó at housing delivery in Guerra: “We are delivering a new beginning”
The Head of State also announced that a titling process will be carried out in the municipality of Guerra, which will benefit some 6,000 families, who will be able to formalize the ownership of the land they occupy. "We are going to speed up the delivery of those titles so that those who today occupy their homes in fact, also do so by right," he affirmed, highlighting the coordinated work with local authorities to achieve that goal. In other news, the president indicated that the paving program will continue in this demarcation and in other areas of the country, although he explained that recent rains have delayed the work. "The rainfall has halted the asphalt program for several weeks, not only in Guerra, but in a large part of the country, but the resources and contractors are ready to continue," he specified. Likewise, he recalled the government's actions to address emergencies caused by the rains, mentioning the case of the municipality of Montellano, one of the localities most affected by recent floods. Finally, the president addressed a message to the families benefiting from the apartments, urging them to take care of their new homes. "You already have your house, now turn it into a home. Take care of it, enjoy it, and may God bless each of your families," he concluded. You can also read:144 families receive housing in San Antonio de Guerra with the support of BanReservas
