Government delivers 144 apartments in Laderas del Este and reaffirms impetus to housing policy in Guerra

Santo Domingo.- With the presence of President Luis Abinader, the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED) delivered this Sunday 144 apartments of the Laderas del Este housing project, in an event that brought together authorities and beneficiaries in this demarcation. The work, which is part of the public policy aimed at reducing the housing deficit, includes a total of 368 units and an investment that amounts to 369.4 million pesos. In this first stage, dozens of families received the keys to their new homes, marking the beginning of a new stage in their lives. During the activity, President Abinader reaffirmed the Government's commitment to continue promoting programs such as Mi Vivienda and the National Happy Family Housing Plan, highlighting the positive impact they have had on thousands of Dominican households. "The commitment is to guarantee the sustainability of these programs, because they have been a true success of a public-private partnership that allows many families to have access to their housing," said the president.

The Head of State also announced the upcoming delivery of some 6,000 property titles in the municipality of Guerra, with the aim of formalizing the situation of families who have occupied land for years. Likewise, he informed that the asphalting program will continue in the area once weather conditions allow, after the recent rains that have affected several regions of the country. On his part, the Minister of MIVHED, Víctor -Ito- Bisonó, highlighted the social focus of the project, noting that more than 60% of the beneficiaries are women, many of them single mothers. "Here we are delivering peace of mind, security, and a new beginning. These are families who now have a decent space to grow and develop," he affirmed. Bisonó explained that the beneficiaries mostly belong to productive sectors such as services, sales, transportation, and entrepreneurship, with incomes close to 47 thousand pesos monthly, which demonstrates the inclusive nature of the program. Meanwhile, the executive president of the Banco de Reservas de la República Dominicana, Leonardo Aguilera, highlighted the financial support of the institution, which has allocated more than 330 million pesos in preferential conditions to facilitate the acquisition of housing. "We are talking about the best market conditions, with fixed rates of up to 8% for seven years, which demonstrates the bank's commitment to Dominicans," he indicated.

The Laderas del Este project joins other housing initiatives developed by the Government in different provinces of the country, with the aim of guaranteeing access to decent housing and improving the quality of life of thousands of families.
