Montecristi. – As part of the permanent surveillance actions in the border area, the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) reported the detention of fifty-four (54) Haitian nationals in irregular migratory condition, during patrol and border control operations carried out in the provinces of Montecristi and Valverde.
In a first intervention, soldiers of the ERD detained twenty-four (24) Haitian nationals in the El Copey area, Montecristi province, of whom twenty-one (21) are men, two (02) are women and one (01) is a minor, who were not carrying documentation.
During another operation carried out in the municipality of Amina, Valverde province, members of the ERD intercepted thirty (30) Haitian nationals, consisting of twenty-three (23) men, six (06) women and one (01) minor, who were located in the vicinity of the El Cana Chapetón sector.

Undocumented foreigners detained were transferred under military custody to the corresponding units, for their subsequent delivery to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM), in accordance with current laws and procedures.
