Dajabón. - Soldiers of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD), assigned to patrol duties near the intelligent perimeter fence (VPI) seized a contraband of 270,000 units of Capital brand cigarettes in Dajabón.
The seizure took place in the area known as the Los Miches dump, where several Haitian nationals were moving the illicit merchandise and fled as the military patrol approached, leaving the cargo abandoned.
The seized cigarettes were transferred to the headquarters of the 10th Infantry Battalion of the ERD, for the corresponding process.

The Army reaffirms its firm commitment to combat smuggling and all illicit activities that affect national security, maintaining an active presence throughout the border strip.
