Army stops motorcyclist guiding group of 22 undocumented Haitians in Dajabón

Dajabón, R.D. — A patrol of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD), stationed at the Palo Blanco military post, with the support of a drone unit, intercepted a motorcyclist who was leading a group of 22 undocumented Haitian migrants in a wooded area of Dajabón.

Manuel Pérez Martínez, was driving the Tauro motorcycle, model CG200, red color, when he was trying to evade the aforementioned checkpoint. The detainee was guiding the group of Haitians in an irregular migratory condition, including 11 men, 9 women and 02 minors, when he was detected by drones and intercepted by an ERD ground patrol. The detainee will be sent before the Public Prosecutor's Office, while the undocumented foreigners were transferred to the headquarters of the 10th Infantry Battalion, to be handed over to the competent authorities for the corresponding legal process.
