The Cibao Association announced the ninth call for the José Santiago Reinoso Lora Competitive Funds program for Sustainable Development, which this year increases its allocation to RD$20 million, reaffirming the institutional commitment to the social, economic and environmental development of the country.
The funds are aimed at Non-Profit Associations (NPAs) that promote projects with high social, economic, and environmental impact. In this edition, the call includes 16 categories: education, culture, housing, health, inclusion, food, reforestation and flora conservation, water, waste sorting, renewable energies, environmental education, fauna conservation, social entrepreneurship, employability, financial education, and technology for social development; all aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Yara Hernández, Vice President of Communications and Sustainability of the Cibao Association, stated that "with this new edition and the increase in funding, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting sustainable solutions that improve the quality of life of communities and strengthen their development."
Hernández assured that the expansion of the program's funds responds to a positive assessment of the results achieved since the first call in 2016.
“Our Board of Directors recognizes and values that this is a unique tool in the country, because it connects the social commitment of the financial intermediation entity with the sustainable development priorities in the communities,” he affirmed.
The call will be open from this November 2025 until February 26, 2026, while the digital platform for the submission of proposals will be enabled from December 1, 2025 on the portal www.cibaosostenible.com.do.
The proposals received will be evaluated by an external specialized jury, made up of representatives from the social, environmental, and academic sectors, who will select the winning projects. The results will be announced during the April-May 2026 bimester, through a formal act held at the entity's facilities in Santiago.
