The Observatory, created by President Luis Abinader, has invested more than 702 million pesos, in the detention and deportation of undocumented immigrants.
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Observatory of Migration Policies reported that it repatriated 291,007 Haitians between October 2024 and July of this year, in addition to deploying more than 11,000 troops on the border with that country.
In terms of security, the Observatory verified the expansion of the surveillance capacity of the three current border brigades, which operate in six areas under the command of senior officers, and visits have been made to Dajabón, to present the beginning of the second phase of the construction of the border wall ordered by Abinader in 2020 and which is expected to extend over 168 of the almost 400 kilometers of border.
