Santo Domingo.- According to the file submitted by the Public Ministry on the Jet Set case, on April 7th at 02:33pm, Gregorio Adames Arias, an employee of Jet Set, had notified businessman Antonio Espaillat about the "pieces of roof that were falling".
"Don, there's an important issue that needs to be reviewed at the nightclub", begins the message sent by Adames. "The ceiling tiles that are breaking, it's because pieces of the roof are falling and that's dangerous, it's good to check the entire roof as soon as there's a chance," adds Adames.Antonio Espaillat responds: "Manuel immediately. Call him", referring the situation to Manuel Jiménez Mateo, in charge of maintenance for the RCC Media group.
This evidence, included in the documents extracted from Adames' phone and voluntarily delivered to the Public Ministry, reinforces the accusation against Antonio Espaillat and Maribel Espaillat de Veras, by showing that despite a clear and immediate alert about the danger, no urgent or effective measures were taken to prevent the tragedy. The roof collapse occurred the next day, April 8, 2025, leaving 235 people dead and more than 180 injured, is the most serious case recorded in an entertainment center in the country.
