San Francisco de Macorís.- The Permanent Attention Office of the Judicial District of Duarte issued a coercive measure consisting of an economic guarantee of RD$200,000 pesos in cash against the young people accused of stabbing another man, in a violent event recorded in the center of this city. The altercation took place on the public road, specifically in front of the facilities of the remittance company Caribe Express. According to preliminary reports gathered by the authorities, the incident was triggered after a heated discussion between the accused and the victim, whose real motives are still being processed by the Public Ministry. The defendant is Hamlet Polanco Adames and the victim is Anderson Rosario Hernández. In the midst of the altercation, the aggressor used a bladed weapon to injure the other citizen, who had to be rushed to a local health center to receive the relevant medical attention.

After the fact, the perpetrator was arrested by police officers and placed at the disposal of justice. During the hearing held this Monday, the magistrate in charge evaluated the presented budgets and determined that the accused must pay the sum of 200 thousand pesos through an insurance company to be able to regain his parole.

Although the coercive measure has already been imposed, local authorities are keeping the investigation open to clarify whether there were previous grudges or what triggered the violence in a place of high commercial attendance.
