Santo Domingo.– The pianist with brilliant technique and composer who seasons his melodies with Caribbean rhythms and jazz harmonies, Michael Camilo, expressed his enthusiasm after concluding the audition process for the young people who applied to the international academic program Berklee in Santo Domingo 2026, of which 43 Dominican students benefited from scholarships from Berklee College of Music, including the prestigious scholarship that bears his name.
The scholarships were awarded after an intense week of musical training and academic evaluation, in which nearly 200 selected students from different regions of the country participated, who demonstrated their talent, discipline and artistic progress during the closing concert, held this Saturday in the Carlos Piantini hall of the Eduardo Brito National Theater.
