Members of the National Police, in coordination with the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), seized various narcotic substances, scales used for weighing drugs, cash, bladed weapons, and two slot machines that were operating illegally, during nine operations carried out in different sectors of the northern zone of the municipality of Baní, Peravia province.
The operations focused primarily on the El Fundo, La Saona, Los Cajuilitos, Pueblo Nuevo, and Villa Majega sectors, where alleged points of sale and distribution of controlled substances operated.
During the actions, several individuals fled upon noticing the police presence, leaving behind backpacks and cases containing portions of a plant presumably marijuana, white powder presumably cocaine, pills presumably ecstasy, and rocky material known as "molly", as well as cash and equipment used for the commercialization of narcotics.
In one of the operations carried out in the La Saona sector, Geraldo García Zapata, José Gregorio Lara Vizcaíno, Jerbin Inoel Vizcaíno, Angelito Arias Díaz, Pablo Ovando Paniagua and Anthony Miguel Bethancourt Mejía were arrested for investigation purposes, while in another intervention Walvin Reynoso was arrested, who was found with several portions of alleged cocaine, a cell phone and cash.
