La Vega. – A National Police agent assigned to this municipality passed away after being involved in a traffic incident that occurred in a location in the municipal district of Manabao, according to preliminary information.
The agent was identified as Sergeant Aurelio Contreras Quezada, who was traveling on a motorcycle with his colleague, Private Emmanuel de los Santos Montero, who is currently receiving medical attention at the Octavia Gautier de Vidal Municipal Hospital, where he remains under observation.
According to the data provided, both agents had allegedly just finished their service day and were traveling from Manabao towards the urban area of Jarabacoa, when unexpectedly a mechanical situation occurred on the motorcycle, which caused them to lose control and slide on the road.
