Police officer loses life in traffic accident in Manabao, Jarabacoa

By: "SALVADOR GARCÍA" La Vega. – A National Police agent assigned to this municipality passed away after being involved in a traffic incident that occurred in a location in the municipal district of Manabao, according to preliminary information. The agent was identified as Sergeant Aurelio Contreras Quezada, who was traveling on a motorcycle with his colleague, Private Emmanuel de los Santos Montero, who is currently receiving medical attention at the Octavia Gautier de Vidal Municipal Hospital, where he remains under observation. According to the data provided, both agents had allegedly just finished their service day and were traveling from Manabao towards the urban area of Jarabacoa, when unexpectedly a mechanical situation occurred on the motorcycle, which caused them to lose control and slide on the road.

During the incident, Sergeant Contreras Quezada would have impacted a road protection structure, suffering multiple serious blows. Information received by this media indicates that the agent died while being transported to receive medical assistance, as a result of the injuries sustained. The relevant authorities are investigating the circumstances in which the event occurred, while the information continues to develop.
