Trump says he is holding talks with Iran while threatening a military attack

Washington.- U.S. President Donald Trump declared this Thursday that he has held and will continue to hold talks with Iran, while threatening a military attack against the Islamic Republic. "I've had them and I plan to keep having them," the president said when the press questioned him about the state of contacts with Tehran, during the presentation in Washington of the first lady, Melania's documentary. The leader assured that he is seeking an agreement with the Iranian Government to prevent them from obtaining a nuclear weapon and so that they "stop killing protesters," he said in relation to the repression of the protests of the last few weeks. Trump's Conversations About Iran

Trump did not specify with whom he has had those conversations but recalled that he ordered a fleet of the US Navy to head towards that country. "We have many very large and very powerful ships sailing right now, and it would be fantastic if we didn't have to use them," he said. The Iranian government indicated this Wednesday that it considers a war confrontation more likely than a negotiation with the United States.
