Méndez García received the recognition, expressed words of gratitude, dedicating the award to his family and friends.

“I also want to thank my family: my wife, my children, my mother, my siblings, and my friends, because many of them become family over the years. Before I finish, I want to quote a phrase from a humble and self-sacrificing person, to whom I am deeply grateful: my mother. Today, at 89 years old and despite the challenges of her age, she continues to be an inspiration, as well as the youngest of my siblings, always reminded me: you have to study; it's the only way to be someone in life, that advice marked my path”, expressed Méndez García.

Likewise, the director of the COE and the DAEH highlighted that his professional life has been guided by the commitment to serve and preserve lives.

"Perhaps life has put me in the position of fighting for so many years to preserve lives, but believe me, it is a gift that God gives to human beings. Every day I get up grateful for having been allowed to serve for so many years. To my mother, who has been an example of sacrifice, I also dedicate this recognition," concluded Méndez García.
