The decision comes after the acts of violence recorded last weekend in the region, following a federal operation against the "Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación" (CJNG) in which its leader, "Rubén Nemesio Oseguera", known as "El Mencho", died. In an official statement, the governing body of aquatic sports explained that, after consultations with the Mexican Federation and the State Council for Sports Development (CODE) Jalisco, it was decided not to hold the competition."This decision was made after a thorough assessment of the risks in Zapopan and the state. The safety of athletes, coaches, and delegations is our top priority," the entity indicated.
