Santiago. – The National Police reported that Cristopher de Jesús Martínez Sánchez, alias “Buchita”, 18 years old, who was actively sought for his alleged involvement in a violent incident that occurred in this city, voluntarily surrendered.
The young man appeared before the authorities through his legal representative at the Prosecutor's Office in Santiago, in compliance with arrest warrant No. 2025-AJ0086547, for the case in which Laionel Yelmin Colón Taveras, 27 years old, was shot.
According to the preliminary report, the incident was recorded on December 23, 2025, in front of a lottery booth located on La Margarita street, La Otra Banda sector, where the accused allegedly shot the victim, presumably motivated by old personal grudges between the two.

After his delivery, Martínez Sánchez was placed under police custody and made available to the Public Prosecutor's Office, which in the coming hours will proceed with the corresponding legal procedures and the request for coercive measures before a competent court. The authorities reiterated that they continue to deepen the investigations into the case and urged those wanted by the justice system to surrender through the appropriate channels, as part of the strengthening of order and citizen security.
