Brown, 36, and with a distinguished career as a wide receiver in the NFL, allegedly took a firearm from the seat belt of a member of the event staff and fired at least twice at Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, with whom he had previously had a fistfight. One of the bullets would have grazed the victim's neck, according to the testimony given to the investigators. The shooting was partially captured on video by event attendees and spread on social media. The images show Brown walking towards Nantambu with the gun in hand just before two shots were heard. Although the victim was not initially located and Brown was released, subsequent investigations confirmed Nantambu's identity as the person affected. If found guilty, Brown could face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of $10,000. This new legal episode adds to a long list of incidents involving the former player, including previous accusations of assault, domestic violence, child support non-payment, and public altercations. One of the most remembered moments was his abrupt exit from the field during a game in 2021 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, when he stripped off his uniform and left the stadium, which marked the end of his NFL career. Brown, who has not issued official statements, posted on his social media that he was "attacked by several people who tried to steal his jewelry and harm him." During his professional career, Antonio Brown amassed 928 receptions, 12,291 yards and 88 touchdowns, and was selected to the Pro Bowl seven times. He played for the Steelers, Raiders, Patriots and Buccaneers, with whom he won Super Bowl LV alongside Tom Brady. The case is still in progress and an initial hearing is expected in the coming days.
