Santiago.- The National Police arrested Isael Rafael Reyes, alias "Caja de Muerto", 27 years old, identified as the alleged perpetrator of the shooting death of the young Lisandro Gómez Vargas, known as "Pepe", in an incident that occurred on November 18, 2024, in the Los Ciruelitos sector of this city.
The arrest took place on Thursday in the city of Santo Domingo, in compliance with judicial order No. 2024-AJ0031846.
According to investigations, the incident occurred while the victim was traveling on a motorcycle on the Jacagua highway, near the La Plazita market, in Los Ciruelitos, where he was intercepted by the now-detained individual and a still unidentified woman, who allegedly fired the shots that caused his death by gunshot wound.
According to investigations, the motive for the crime would be related to old personal grudges between the victim and the perpetrator, supposedly motivated by "Pepe's" refusal to get involved in illicit activities.
Isael Rafael Reyes will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry in the coming hours for the corresponding legal purposes. Meanwhile, the National Police maintains the active search for the woman who was accompanying him at the time of the event.
