MAP orders early exit in public institutions for rain prevention

Santo Domingo. – The Ministry of Public Administration (MAP) has ordered that the work day in state institutions end at 12:00 noon this Friday, as a preventive measure against the intense rains affecting a large part of the country. The provision applies to public entities located in the provinces of Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa and Azua, which are under alert levels issued by the Emergency Operations Center (COE).

The MAP indicated that the measure seeks to safeguard the integrity of public personnel, reducing the risk of accidents and inconveniences in displacement due to urban flooding and sudden rises in rivers, streams, and ravines. The organization recalled that its role as the governing body of public employment and administrative career systems empowers it to establish special provisions in emergency situations. Authorities urged public servants and the general citizenry to remain attentive to official information and follow the recommendations of civil protection agencies.
