Dominican Republic reaffirms its vision as a regional logistics hub at ANRD conference

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic reaffirmed its interest in consolidating itself as a regional logistics hub during the conference “Logistics corridors: what DR needs to be a more competitive regional hub”, organized by the Dominican Republic Shipping Association (ANRD). The event brought together representatives from the shipping, logistics, business, and academic sectors to discuss how to improve the country's competitiveness through infrastructure investments, efficient public policies, and public-private partnerships.

The keynote speaker was global logistics expert Jean-Paul Rodrigue, professor at Texas A&M University, who explained how logistics corridors can strengthen the country's strategic positioning in international trade. He also addressed the importance of connecting ports, free zones, and global markets to generate greater economic value. The ANRD highlighted that, although the country has advanced in port modernization and connectivity, it still faces challenges due to the new demands of global trade and technological changes. The conference was supported by companies in the sector such as RANNIK, Banco Popular, DP World, MC Logistics, Puerto Río Haina, HIT, CODONAVE, among others.
